I have a customer which lost the nk2 file - Ive attempting to run this program to recreate the nk file
if the profile is not the default outlook profile will this cause a issue?
few questions:
- After Complete where is the file located ?
- Does Outlook have to be closed?
- Is there a limit ? the application crashes after estimated 25% (folder - sent items contains around 7.000 emails)
i look forward for some help..

Rebuit my computer and forgot to transfer the NK2 file, I only ever use autocomplete so I was lost. Your program works brilliantly and I would be pleased to make a donation!
Cheers,

This is one of the best free tools I've ever seen. I was able to rebuild a user's NK2 file when his became corrupt. Finally, an application that is worthy of giving a donation. Thank you so much for such a great tool.

The link page 'http://nk2.emenems.net/application/download' (Download as ZIP file) returns a 'page not found' error.
To download, one must visit the 'Install from web' page and choose 'install' from there. No zip download though.
Comment by admin Thanks. I recently installed a new linux distro on my server. And now i must add .php at the end of the download link. fixed :)

Excellent tool!!!
I've spent tonnes of time trying to find something that would create an NK2 file based on your contact list... But your tool is beyond that (it even picks up addresses from inbox and so on)
Thank you very much.

This worked perfectly. I can't believe Microsoft couldn't build something like this into Outlook. I tried to puzzle my way through the Microsoft web pages on Outlook addressing, but they use ill-defined terminology and the descriptions lead in circles. After dealing with a corrupted nk2 file for hours, I came across this program. Excellent job! Thank you.

while looking for NK2-related software I found also http://code.google.com/p/debunk2/ that seems to be missing from your links page - allows exporting to CVS and seems to work better with languages that have high-bit characters ("umlauts") than nk2.info

I have Outlook 2007 and cannot get my email group lists to put all the recipients in. I can't find the nk2 file to delete it (some help says delete the file and Outlook will rebuild it). I used your program and it looked like it worked but the addresses are still missing. Any suggestions?
Outlook creates the actual NK2 file, not this program. Until now I have not figured out how the data is stored in that file.
The advantage to this aproach is that it works on a lot of different versions of outlook, and may even work on future versions.
I tested with outlook 2003 and 2007, and both recreate the nk2 file.
I did the following.
- make sure Outlook is not running (CTRL+ALT+DELETE and kill outlook if it is still there)
- deleted my nk2 file
- start Outlook
- start my rebuild program and do te rebuild
- close the rebuild program
- close Outlook
Only after closing Outlook you will see the NK2 file appear. Outlook only writes out the NK2 file on exit.

One more thing about that question of where is the new nk2 file after the rebuild...
Again, I don't think the rebuild program makes one but will add to the one that is already there. If you borrow one, rename it to yourprofilename.nk2. Outlook looks for that exact name. In control panel click the mail icon and view profiles.
I realize this is just the guestbook section but I got carried away and just had to help you out at this site since your program was so helpful to me.

In further answer to that question above, "where's the new nk2 file", I don't think it makes one. I believe you already have to have a valid ??????.nk2 file in the outlook folder. If it is missing, I found that the rebuilt cache works but is not saved on closing Outlook. But if an existing ??????.nk2 is present, then the rebuilt cache is saved on exiting Outlook. So if your NK2 has been deleted, borrow a copy from another profile or computer.

How about having this for editing networked machines NK2 files, then i don't have to get off my bot and walk to a user's desk!
